MONGOOSE GRAY

Join S (sic) as a Senior DevOps Engineer.

London, UK Permanent

Say hello to the big S.

S. It does what it wants. Sometimes soft – silence, sometimes strong – strike, sometimes serious – seismic. We’re an amicable, sociable, open-minded bunch but please: no striking, no seismic events, no silly stuff. Thank you.

Let’s set the scene early: the S for this role is SIX figures plus excellent benefits. Yes, you’ll need to be a seasoned big-hitter to secure this number. If you’re less experienced, let’s talk. There’s always room for superb, supreme, spectacular talent.

S can mean a lot of things depending on tone. A simple “sure” can sound supportive… or slightly sinister. Don’t worry, there’s no passive-aggressive Slack energy here. Just straight-talking collaboration in the Big Ssssssmoke.

S is for superb communication skills (written and oral) which are essential. You’ll be working across teams and timezones so clarity beats cleverness every time.

Sera, sera — what will be, will be. But in this role, what will be depends on you. You can never know too much, especially about systems and scale. Kubernetes may not start with S but scaling clusters certainly does and that’s your thang.

In science, S can mean seconds. In our world, things can and do change in an instant. So you’ll need to be adaptable and versatile. From creating CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins) to defining infrastructure with Terraform, provisioning servers, monitoring performance with Prometheus and Grafana, and implementing best-in-class security practices.

S-sized clothing might be small, but your impact won’t be. You’ll use Python and Bash scripts to automate, streamline and simplify. Serious scripting. No small stuff.

S is worth 1 point in Scrabble®. Modest. Understated. But try building a sentence without it. Exactly. You’ll use Docker to support and strengthen developer workflows so they can build, test and ship smoothly.

S looks smooth but also has strength. Strong — like your knowledge of the AWS ecosystem. Services, scalability, serverless, storage… your command of the AWS language is well, smooth.

S is the 19th letter of the alphabet. We don’t care how many letters are in your name. We care about site reliability, security, stability and speed. And so should you.

Sea creatures with shells might hide when things get stormy. Not you. This is high-profile, mission-critical stuff. You’ll enjoy autonomy, ownership and accountability. Step forward. Stand tall. Solve problems.

In olde English, swords were swung, shields were raised and stories were sung. You won’t be storming castles, but you will be our platform champion.

Words starting with S come from everywhere: sushi, safari, salsa... we’re a friendly international team, so expect shared ideas, shared learning and shared success.

In pop culture, S can mean “Super.” We don’t need superheroes. Just someone seriously good at what they do. If you’re not… well… sorry.

S is for scale. Systems. Stability and speed. Yes, you can have both. And you'll be instrumental in proving it.

S is for safeguarding. Secure our services with world-class, security-first standards. DevSecOps right?

S has style. But it also stands for source control. Use Git. Commit responsibly. No carving your initials into production systems.

S is the chemical symbol for Sulfur - essential and powerful. A bit like you. We’re experiencing serious scale right now, so if you love the speed and stretch of fast-growing SaaS startups and scaleups, this is going to be your scene.

Interested? If so, send us a CV and a covering letter (not just “sure”) that convinces us you’ve actually read all of the above.

Sound good? 😏
